January 22, 2025 – ISF proudly announces the official launch of its first Cogeneration Plant at the Dengkil factory, marking a significant advancement in its sustainability journey. The 3.8 MW Cogeneration Plant commenced operations following the completion of installation in December 2024.
The Cogeneration Plant uses gas turbine combined heat and power (CHP) systems, which use natural gas as its sole energy source to simultaneously produce electricity and heat energy. This innovative approach significantly enhances fuel efficiency and reduces both energy costs and CO₂ emissions compared to separate electricity and heat generation processes.

The launch event was held at ISF’s Dengkil facility and was attended by the Management Representative and ISF Dengkil staff. Speaking at the opening of the launching event, Mr. Toshio Fujimori, Chief Executive Officer of ISF, highlighted the company’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. “This Cogeneration Plant is an important step toward our goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, helping us reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency, and grow our business responsibly,” he stated.
The Cogeneration Plant at ISF Dengkil commenced in June 2023 and began operations in January 2025. Designed to optimise energy use and reduce reliance on external fuel sources, the plant is a cornerstone of ISF’s emissions reduction strategy.
Aligned with its commitment to sustainable energy management and operational efficiency, ISF is also setting up a second Cogeneration Plant at its Port Klang factory, with completion targeted by the end of 2025.
This milestone highlights ISF’s proactive approach to adopting innovative green production solutions. It reaffirms the company’s dedication to improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and achieving its long-term ambition of carbon neutrality by 2050.
